See Ya 2013

Well Trunk Nation, here it is the final day of 2013, and a HUGE THANK YOU to each and every one of you.  I am indebted with gratitude to each of you that reads this, follow my crazy thoughts on Facebook and Twitter, Oh and Awe at my T filled Instagram feed, show up at my shows and hug me and tell me nice things and of course purchase from the shop!  I have made a lot of progress this year and it was with y'alls help.  I am just so grateful to even have the opportunity to try this owning your own business thing.  It's frustrating, intoxicating, disheartening, and back breaking sometimes but it is always always so much fun. Every. Single. Part of it.

Instead of a resolution I come up with a word for the year,  a motto almost to my self. 2013's word was Courage.   Since that was the word I had to live up to I did a lot of things outside my comfort zone and couldn't be more thankful for the opportunities and the people that I have met because of that simple word.  My word for 2014 is Persistence, a continuance on a course of action.  Can't wait for the journey ahead.

Now let's have a photo recap of the crazy 2013.

Thank you for being there along on the ride for all this year. T and I wish you all health and happiness in 2014.

It's hard for me to fatham that they above packages and envelopes that I picked up at the Post Office yesterday for T and I  are from people I've met on the internet!  I have met some pretty amazing women all over the world and have made some life long friendships.  Feeling very thankful this holiday season!

Christmas Vacation

I think this photo pretty much sums up how T and I feel this time of year.  It's been a crazy good December but I think we are both ready for our Long Winters nap, or you know maybe just a few consecutive days in a row off.  The shop will remain open, but any orders placed from today until January 1st will not ship out until January 2nd.  Hope all of you in Trunk Nation have an amazing holiday!

20 Seconds

One year ago today at 8:30 am I walked into the Director's office, asked if I could shut the door, sat down in a chair, took a breath and said " I am giving you my two weeks notice" and across the desk handed over an envelope containing my letter of resignation.  The look on her face, I still see to this day, it was a mix of shock and confusion, it was as if the words I had just said were Greek and that this moment wasn't entirely happening.  All in all it took me realistically 20 seconds to get that sentence out, 20 seconds of insane courage to change my life. We exchanged a few words, she asked if there was anything that would change my mind to stay, I politely said No.   When I opened the door and  walked out of that office I felt like a thousand pounds had been lifted off of my shoulders, I felt like I could finally stand up straight, that a breath could fill my entire lungs not just 30 % of them and I had a permanent smile on my face as I was freaking out inside.

It's been a rocky road, a roller coaster ride at many points but there is one thing that is for sure, those 20 seconds, I won't ever regret them a day in my life.  Those 20 seconds changed every single thing.

Now tell me what is holding you back, it's only 20 seconds?

Hey Trunk Nation!  Just wanted to stop by and let you know that Vintage Kitchmas Christmas items have been added to da shop as well as a few other cuties looking for their forever homes. The best part they will ship domestically FREE through Midnight, December 2nd!

Here's a great gift idea for the person on your list that likes to cook. I found this super adorable pink recipe box and thought it would make a very thoughtful gift not only for the holidays but for a housewarming or wedding shower gift as well. Just think how meaningful it would be if it was filled with delicious handwritten recipes and given with along with an apron or whisk.  Super cute and super thoughtful, if I enjoyed cooking I would really enjoy a gift like that.  Recipe Box can be found HERE
