My Eat, Shop, Love Day- Milwaukee Edition

Oh Milwaukee, how I love thee and your smell of hops and barley.  I get to see you quite often but not just on a me day crossing places off my list that are not exactly kid friendly when I'm there visiting the bff and nephew.

I had gotten a call from Farm Girl Antiques  to come and check on my things in her shop, so I made a day of it.  I decided to take the back roads and stop at all my favorite places along the way, since I don't ever have very much time to do that.  Along the way I stopped at Antiques on Broadway in Richmond, IL,  several consignment stores outside of Lake Geneva, Clinton Street Antiques in Milwaukee and of course perused Farm Girl while we chatted about vintage goodies.  (Seriously when you're in Milwaukee check it out it's the most ascetically stimulating building inside AND the prices are so totally reasonable.)

By the time I was done shopping and chatting, it was way past time to eat.  On my list of places to stuff my face in Milwaukee was HoneyPie Cafe in the Bayview neighborhood.  They are a locally sourced made from scratch cafe that is down right delicious.  Deer heads on the wall welcomed me and my cheesehead roots felt at home for the afternoon. I had the Burger WI complete with a sunny side egg and a blonde root beer brewed in nearby Cedarburg.  I posted a photo to the gram that I was there and immediately was flooded with comments to check out the bathroom.  As some of you may know I am a sucker for superiorly decorated restrooms, and Honeypie's does not disappoint!  Every single wall was covered in vintage needle points.

After food I decided to take a stroll down  Kinnickinnic Ave. before my drive back to da Chi.  I'm so glad I did because I discovered this great boutique called Sparrow Collective that is a mix of many different and talented independent artists.  I picked up a pair of wooden lotus flower earrings, that are  one of my new favorite go to accessories.  By now it was getting close to the time when traffic was going to be horrendous, so a quick stop at Stone Creek Coffee for a cold brew and it was time to hit the road.

Oh Milwaukee I can not wait to see your beautiful self and smell your grain and hops again in a few weeks.  As always looking for suggestions for any places you think are amazing and that I must see the next time I am in Brew City.  For Information and addresses on each of the places I talked about please click their name in the post.

Currently

* Attempting to get da Junk shop stocked for the Holiday season.
* Wishing that all of the inventory sitting in the corner of my house would just magically appear online for your viewing pleasure.
* Needing more hours in the day

I have a few newbies stocked in the shop.  For some reason I decided one afternoon to just shoot vintage children's inventory so that's why there's been a plethora of those goodies hitting the shelves.  I PROMISE there are more "adult" things to come, cross my heart.  But for now let's just smile at how amazing these vintage children's toys and books are mmkay.  So bright, colorful, cheerful and authentic, and all ready for you to adopt and love them!

This guy is my favorite, part of me secretly hopes he doesn't get adopted but Talky is looking for his new forever home!

Hickory Dickory Dock the child in your life needs this teaching clock!

Hey Mr. Wilson! Set of two Dennis the Menace books, because every kid should know about the original ultimate mischief maker.

And to get you into the holiday spirit before Halloween just like every other big box store, it's Howdy Doody Time!

Keep checking da shop as lots of goods are getting stocked pretty much on the daily, usually late at night.  Let's face it I like burning the midnight oil and working while the world is quiet.

Wednesday Around the Web

Hey Y'all today I thought I'd share with you a few of links that I have had book marked around the World Wide Web, we can call them Wednesday Web Time Wasters if you want. Some are a little dated but still good. You're Welcome.

This Instagram FEED  that is being published as a book. It. Is. Amazing. For. Real. Yo.

Are you like me and ever need 95 stupid cents to fill your free Amazon Shipping Order? You're Welcome
As a poor Celiac that HAS to shop at Whole Foods I still laughed out loud while reading this ARTICLE  that is almost dead on about a Whole Foods shopping adventure, I'm sorry but it's true....

This Quote from Chirlane McCray --  I am more than just a label. Why are people so driven to labeling where we fall on the sexual spectrum? Labels put people in boxes, and those boxes are shaped like coffins. Finding the right person can be so hard that often, when a person finally finds someone she or he is comfortable with, she or he just makes it work. As my friend Vanessa says, "It's not whom you love; it's that you love."

All of THIS I'll take the reality over the fantasy any day. "Flats, a sale rack dress from Target and a sincere worry that I might not even make rent next month, especially if I keep on giving in to what is apparently my new life mantra, "It's Wednesday, this calls for margaritas!" But I'll figure it out. I always do.
Brands get sassy on social media as well! Loving these Twitter Feeds and I seriously want to hang out with whomever is tweeting over @Taco Bell.
How about you have any links you'd like to share with me?  I'm always looking for new enlightening things, leave some in the comments. Have a happy Hump Day!
